Prague´s Christmas markets are once of the most popular in the Europe. The biggest and the most famous are at Old town square, where you can buy some little presents, christmas decoration or candles, and of course it is a place for food and hot drinks. The most favourite are trdelník and mulled wine. There is also huge christmas tree. Old town square is place, where is for you prepared rich program like concerts, theatres and other exhibitons. The next interesting markets, which you can find in Prague, are Wenceslas square, Náměstí míru or Náměstí republiky.

Hi students!

We want to give you some basic information about sports in Prague, especially ice hockey and football. We have a lot of football clubs in Prague, for example Sparta Prague, Slavia Prague and Dukla Prague. It´s big rivalry between them, especially between Sparta and Slavia, because they are the most successful teams in Czech Republic. First, some basic information about Sparta. Sparta Prague has home stadium on Letná. The price for ticket is between 100 – 300 Kč on a league match and for Europe league, it is more expensive. There are a lot of great players playing for Sparta these days, for example Bořek Dočkal, Václav Kadlec and Tomaš Rosický who was Captain in Arsenal London. Also, a lot of famous Czech players have history of playing in Sparta, for example Pavel Nedvěd, Karel Poborský, Jan Koller and many others. Slavia has home stadium on Eden. Eden is the most modern football stadium in Czech Republic. It´s also home stadium for Czech national team. The price for the ticket is between 100-300 Kč. Dukla Prague has home stadium on Juliska, just a 10 minutes from ČVUT campus. It´s old fashioned stadium, but with pretty big history. There is also ČVUT sports areal so you may have been there already.

Czech people are also big fans of hockey. The biggest hockey club in Prague is Sparta Praha. Their stadium is called 02 Arena, which also hold many cultural events such as concerts, etc. Sparta plays regularly Hockey Champions League, and also host one of the best hockey teams in Europe on their stadium, mainly from Sweden and Finland.

If you're a hockey fan, we highly recommend you to go and see one of their matches. It's great relaxation between your studies. We believe that you will not regret it.

Where to go?

Hi students,
soon is going to be exam time again and everyone knows, how difficult and stressful this time is. So, we would like to give you tips about where is very good to study to make this time more comfortable. We go to NTK - National Technical Library.  It is a modern, comfortable, calm and nice place.  There are 5 floors, where are lots of calm places and where students are studying. Mostly we go there in a group, then we can study together or support each other and we are also have breaks and have fun.

You wanted know about interesting places where tourists don't go too. We recommend you, for example, a rooftop cafeteria in the Dancing House, which has view on Prague Castle, Lenon's wall, which is near Kampa or pendulum on Letna where formerly stood Stalin's sculptural group. This place is favourite especially for boys who go skateboarding and there is also a beautiful view of Prague.

We can also recommend the two events taking place on the Old Town Square. One of them is evening of St. Nicholas, when many people are dressed as devils, angels and Nicholas roam in the very center of Prague. The second of the event is lighting up Christmas tree on Old Town Square and the beginning of the Christmas markets. At these events, you have to be aware, that there are many people in the streets, but we think that is worth it to see.

Thank you, the information we read in your article was very helpful! 

We were really surprised to hear that Czech people are always busy, as we supposed, on the contrary, they do not have too much work to do. Every time we saw them they were quite relaxed, besides, the majority of their working hours seem to be very short for us.)) We are definitely going to visit one of the restaurants you suggested, as we are highly interested to sample the original Czech cuisine.

We are looking forward to receiving more tips about interesting places to visit a Prague. We hope you could advise us some really good galleries or fascinating exhibitions to visit in our spare time. Moreover, we will be glad to know more about "worth to see" places in Prague, that are not crowded with tourists and are more visited by Czech people instead.

Hey guys!

We have another tip for you and it is in regards to fun. If you have enough of continuous sitting and studying your books and school material, you should go for a walk to a park or to the city. Prague is beautiful city full of secret streets and interesting things to see. We have something for the ‘culture lovers’ as well. For instance, you can visit The national theatre or the State Opera. On the other hand, if you prefer walks in nature, we recommend to go and see the view from DivokáŠárka or have a walk in OboraHvězda and Grébovka.

If you are looking for social life with your friends to have some drink or to dance, here are some advices where to go. The most visited bars are NEBE and Popocafepetl, which have more brunches around the city and many more.

We would like to give you a few helpful hints.

If you came alone and still don´t have friends... Go to the pub! This is the best thing, which you can do because most of Czechs are known for their love of beer. The best student´s pubs are in center for example the Standard Café or Café Campus. You can meet a lot of guys from other colleges. Maybe this is the place for new friendships.

You have read about some interesting places in Prague in the previous article. Today, we would like to advice to you where you can have a lunch or a perfect dinner. There are a lot of restaurants in Prague, but we would like to recommend to you our favourite ones.

First one is restaurant "KULAŤÁK". It is the restaurant with perfect food, beer and homemade lemonades. You will pay 150 CZK for a meal, drinks cost about 40 CZK. Although prices are higher, this is one of the better restaurants in Prague, and the best restaurant surrounding ČVUT campus.

Next one, which we would like to recommend to you, is "U Veverky". This restaurant is 5 minutes by walk from Hradčanská station. There cook perfect Czech food, and one of the best beer in Prague. The prices are acceptable, for lunch you will pay 120 CZK, and drinks costs 40 CZK. Restaruant offers typical Czech food like "svíčková" and other sauces with dumpling. There serve also nice waiters and waitresses.

We have chosen these two restaurants, because we were absolutely satisfied with food, staff and drinks. We also hope you will enjoy it, and you will try one of them.

Dear students,
it's a pleasure that you have chosen to study in Prague, Czech Republic, which is called "the heart of Europe". We would like to recommend you some wonderful places in Prague, but first let us tell you a few words about our culture. Czech people are busy all the time and they can be sometimes unpleasant as well. But who wouldn´t? It is a big deal to handle the traffic situation. Especially in winter in the long-standing traffic jams. If you have some free time, you can visit Petřín, or go to the Náplavka riverside, there are often a many types of entretainment, for example weekend markets or evening concerts. We hope that you fall in love with our city. You will get a lot of recommendations from our schoolmates during the year.
